Max House: A Unique Interpretation of Office Space

Blending Art and Functionality for a Creative Workspace

Just as space expresses its relationship with the user to respond to architecture, Max House gives space a greater imagination through various explorations, creating high and low fluctuations like the melody of music. This innovative office design blends art elements to create a unique art gallery where staff can be embraced by beloved things and enjoy happiness.

Max House, designed by Faxin Xie, is a remarkable example of how office spaces can be transformed into creative and inspiring environments. Each block within the design appears coherent, yet does not restrict each other, allowing for individual functional forms. The open and comfortable layout focuses on exploring the relationship between people and space, extending the spirit of the workspace to the state of the designer's work.

The design of Max House is characterized by its unique properties. It aims to present an open-minded and daring approach to work, while also offering a tactile experience for visitors. The use of moss and stones in the front desk area creates a micro-landscape reminiscent of a Japanese rock garden, adding an impact of Japanese pavilion culture. Contemporary art hanging ornaments further enhance the emotional interaction between people and space.

The dark-colored curtain in the rear of Max House covers an open and semi-open office area. The dark back wall, permeated by a glass screen, greatly strengthens the sense of space. In the meeting room, the conventional display pattern is avoided, and artwork is integrated into the space in a manner that reflects daily life. The interval of glasses allows for field lights to shine on each other, creating a brighter and more comfortable room that conveys the beauty of harmony between people, things, and artwork.

Max House also showcases the integration of technology and design. The bar area utilizes metal plates and marble to create a visual focus, while the white stealth cabinet adds rhythm to the color transformation. The space profile of the refrigerator and oven is hidden in the wall, presenting a light and simple visual sense. The concise and decorative language of the design demonstrates the inclusiveness and artistry of contemporary design.

The project, located in Shunde, Guangdong, China, was completed in May 2018. It is the second office that Max Design team has created for their own designers. The design is based on the continuation and reproduction of space, giving it a greater imagination and creating a unique art gallery-like environment. Max House has received recognition for its innovative approach and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.

Max House is a testament to the endless possibilities of space and the integration of art and functionality. It provides a habitat for the design soul, where creativity can thrive and be nurtured. By reimagining office spaces, Faxin Xie has created a truly unique interpretation of what a workspace can be.
